Where are your products manufactured?

All our products are manufactured in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

What are your furniture and products made from?

All our furniture is made from 1-inch European birch plywood. Europe’s cold climate ensures slower growth, which means a consistent, high-quality grain. It’s also very durable and incredibly strong.

Is your plywood sustainably sourced?

One of the reasons for birch's consistently beautiful grain is because these trees grow slowly in Europe's cool climate. But slow-growing doesn't mean unsustainable. The beginning of active forest management in Europe dates back to the 19th century, creating a firm basis for the development of the country’s forest products industry.

Thanks to good forestry practices and sustainable forest management, the annual growth of European forests exceeds the amount harvested.

The Europly plywood we use is:

  • FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) Certified mill using sustainable timbers
  • ISO 9001 certified
  • Compliant with CARB (California Air Resources Board) Exempt, CARB Phase 2, CE Mark (compliance with the relevant EU LEGISLATION)

In simpler words, the plywood we use is safe and produced in an environmentally friendly way.

What is plywood?

Plywood is best described as pressed timber. The 1-inch birch plywood we use is a panel made up of multiple cross-banded veneers.

In non-engineering speak, this means that each alternate layer is laid crosswise, so the grains of two consecutive layers form a 90-degree angle. This results in reduced expansion and shrinkage and increased strength.

Are the finish colours shown in your photos accurate?

All photos on our website are taken by professional photographers under lighting conditions that are typical in residential homes.

We try our best to show you the true colours of our products. However, the monitor at your home or office may show slight variances based on different settings and colour calibration. The same goes for printers.

Because almost all of our furniture and products are made from a natural material (not laminate) with a natural woodgrain, each and every piece has its own unique appearance. The product images on our website are intended to represent the natural material we use and show its various characteristics, but they can’t show all possible variations in colour, texture, and grain, meaning each piece is just a little bit different. We think that’s a beautiful thing.

Where can I find the product dimensions?

It’s important to know how a piece will fit into your home, so we’ve listed the dimension of each product on the product's page.

We encourage you to measure doorways, elevators, stairwells, or any other relevant spaces to ensure that the pieces you’ve purchased fit into your space.

How do I assemble my furniture?

It’s seriously so easy to put together our furniture that you probably won’t even need instructions. But if you do, they can be found on the webpage for your product.

In the unlikely and slightly embarrassing event that you get stuck—don’t worry! We won’t tell anyone. Send us an email at hello@caramba.store and we’ll guide you through.

How should I look after my furniture?

All you need is a soft damp cloth—never use the green scratchy side of your sponge!

Wipe up spills right away and be aware that if you place your furniture in direct sunlight, it may cause the colour to fade over time. We also recommend avoiding placing items on or near heating or cooling ducts.

I need a replacement part. Can I purchase one?

Definitely. Repairing contributes to the sustainability of your product, and we’re all for it. Email us at hello@caramba.store so we can send you any replacement parts or hardware.

How did we do?

We’re always looking for ways to improve our customer experience. We welcome your feedback, so please send us an email at hello@caramba.store for any comments or suggestions.

For any questions, send us an email at hello@caramba.store.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

Two to three weeks. Our furniture is made to order and it can take up to 10 business days to craft each piece. Shipping times vary slightly depending on your location.
